Head, torso and arms: Capt. Grid-Iron
Legs and waist: Beach Head V2

Originally a hand-to-hand combat trainer, he was simply out of his league when throwing down against unarmed combat masters such as Quick Kick and Snake Eyes.

To continue with the Joes, he needed a specialization that served the team better. Realizing that combat in the urban arena utilized a lot of the hard won skills that he'd learned on the football field, Captain Grid-Iron now plies his rushing and defensive strategies to urban warfare.

____

Captain Grid-Iron was a pretty silly figure, a pretty obvious attempt do the idea of a Joe in a weaponized football uniform. He had yellow pants. Even his file card made him pretty much unlikable.

I like the head sculpt, and the arms and torso were good for an urban trooper. I replaced the silly looking legs, fragile crotch and football grenade holders with a better set of pants.

The top of the figure is Rit dyed green, the bottom is dyed black. I really like this version of the figure, and he's become my default representation of the character. Unfortunately you really can't see all of the detail on the figure from the photos - the urban camo is visible, but quite subtle.
