This was my second attempt at Fast Draw, a character I was sure I'd never customize until I realized I had inadvertently done customs of just about every other Joe introduced through 1987. It seemed silly to leave him out just because I'd never had a particular affinity for him.

Really the only things different about this custom from my first Fast Draw are its coloration and its accesories. People had said they really liked the Grand Slam noggin for the latter-day gunfighter (maybe because of the scruff?) and most didn't have a problem with my parts choices. They just couldn't get past the dramatic difference in color scheme (the first version was desert camo and gunmetal gray).

Having recently discovered some new paints and refined techniques that make me less averse to painting, I decided to do up the old custom in the character's classic colors.

Painting up the Steel Brigade helmet was a gamble that actually paid off, as it looks much closer to the character's original than the one I'd originally picked (a modified SpyTroops Depth Charge helmet).

The original weapons were the finishing touch and something I just couldn't approximate using later accesories.
