Galen Maddocks was a Jedi Knight in the Old Republic, one of many whose name is little more than a footnote in old Jedi records, what few records still remain.

More than a little impulsive, Galen excelled at most elements of Jedi training but had a harder time mastering many of the quiet disciplines and learning to work well as part of a team. Fighting was what Galen was good at and the Jedi Council utilized him heavily in areas where that skill would come in handy, such as going up against pirates or violent criminals, earning him the nickname "The Dancing Blade" with many underworld types. He might have gone far, had fate not intervened in the most mundane of ways: while heading off to check claims of violent underworld activity on Duros, the shuttle on which he was traveling was rammed by an out-of-control freighter and destroyed with all hands on board, including Galen himself.
