Entire body: DC Supergirl (modified)
Gunbelt: 25A Lady Jaye
Skirt: Scratch built

Design:

I stopped reading Devil's Due long before this character appeared, so I don't know much about her. After stumbling across some other customs and then source images, I decided to make the figure. There are lots of changes on the figure compared to the comic book design. I didn't have a good way to replicate fishnet stockings, so I went with bare legs.

In the comics the character sports a tank top frayed at the midriff. Since that's basically the design I went with for my Zanya custom, I gave Heartwrencher a full length/long sleeve shirt so the custom figures wouldn't look too similar. Instead of the very silly looking tattered loincloth, the custom has a mini skirt. It keeps the trampy vibe, but without looking stupid.

When the artist/writer designed the character, it seems they couldn't decide if she would be more "Mad Max" or more "promiscuous 19 year old who hangs out with street racers". Even though she's a Dreadnok, I opted to eliminate the Mad Max elements.

Colors & Paint:

Influenced by the comic. The boots are burgundy and not pink now, but still have some pink in them at the soles.

The images of Heartwrencher I located always seemed to have some cutesy animal design on the center of the shirt. I chose a lizard. I drew it angled to be crawling to the shoulder. I then painted halfway through the actual ink line (the same technique I use for some camo designs).

The gunbelt was a last-minute addition once I realized I had to redo the skirt. The gunbelt was already painted black and clear-coated from another project (Zanya, which didn't look right with it). I didn't want the black of the skirt touching the black of the gunbelt, so I made it a burgundy swirled with black pattern.

The pink was a pain to use, even more than working with yellow or white. It took about 15 coats to cover the Supergirl blue.

Modifying & Sculpting:

I added thick layers of paint in the middle to close/seal the midriff articulation point. I also added thick "stripes" of paint along the inside of the elbows to create the look of wrinkled cloth with mixed success.

The Supergirl skirt and cape were removed, as was much of the hair.

The remaining hair was then given the Mary Tyler Moore flips with hot glue.

The edges of the gloves and boots are masking tape, as is the skirt. It started off with a MU Enchantress skirt, but it was too thick at the hips and set out too far.

Thanks for looking.
