Seamus O'Kelly was not allowed in the Irish Defense Force Air Corps because of his height. He found work as a pilot for a commercial cargo flight company and he made a steady check but desired excitement in his life. When his plane was hijacked during a refueling stop by Zanzibar's gang, his entire crew was killed. Zanzibar told him that he was lucky, because he needed a pilot on his crew. This sudden influx of excitement made Seamus want his boring career. And then he saw Portia. And he realized he was lucky to be near her and offered no resistance to joining Zanzibar. Now he prefers to be called Lucky O'Kelly. He just has to compete with Umanga and Punjab for her attention.
