This was the very first incarnation of the JCW superstar Lance Sputnik, though in his true first appearance, he was dressed simply as a Snow Serpent. When the JCW returned from a brief hiatus, Sputnik's look had evolved to something a bit more complicated and flashy, though the Snow Serpent helmet element remained, for a time. This version was soon upgraded to an unmasked look, using the now familiar Sputnik head, and swappable Microman hands. When the Dark Sputnik figure was created, this look was the thought to be iconic enough to be the inspiration for that.
