When the 25th Major Bludd first came out, I was dissappointed that he was just a new head and arm on Zartan'z body. I thought I could tweak him a litle bit and make him presentable. I ripped his helmet off, dremeled it out a little more, shaved the top of his head down slightly and glued the helmet back on. The head looked awesome. I stuck it back on the body.

Still stunk.

I tried chopping up his dog tags and gluing them to the chest further down so they didn't look like he was being strangled by them. Nope. No go. Ugly. The character is supposed to be ugly, I get that, but the body was just ... Just really ugly.

I threw the figure in my parts bin and forgot about it.

Then I saw the Desert pack Bludd that used the H.I.S.S. driver torso. Thats more like it. I bought it on ebay the other day. It arrived, I opened it. I wanted to like it. There was still the problem of the dog tags... And his face... His eyebrow wasn't slanting down enough.

This vicious mercenary looked horribly scared of something.

I thought I could fix him up, I pried his helmet off since it looked weird and then realized his eyepatch wasn't painted all the way up his forehead like the single pack. I repainted the head a little, fixed the eyebrow as best I could, but it was already so thick it just looked dumb.

I dug out my first attempt and popped his head on the new body. What just happened, it actually looks good? Ok, I got off easy. Now the dog tags. That was the coolest part of this character, besides the right arm. I decided to experiment with the first tags I had already chopped up.

They wouldn't come off the body.

The crazy glue did it's job too well. BAH! I took my exacto knife and just shaved it off- An interesting thing happened; some of the strands of chain got shaved off and seperated. This made the chains look a little less dense, the whole thing looked less bulky, and it made it look like they were individually layered a little better instead of just one big thick hunk of plastic.

I then worried for a few hours about whether or not I should risk gluing this to the figure. It looked like it would fit under his collar ok... I test fit it a few more times, shortened the chain and just glued it on finally. It looked great. I was pleased.

I think I may get a Python Patrol officer just to chop up his elbow joint and use it to give this arm some mobility, but for now; I finally have Major Bludd as nature intended.
