My First Joe Custom!

Mercer was always my favorite non-traditional Joe. He just stood out, was cool and tough and was an ex-Viper (my favorite Cobra Troops)! I really enjoy the 25th Anniv. line of figures and wanted to do a custom that I wouldn't see produced any time soon.

The General Hawk head looked a little tougher than most of the heads I considered. I changed out the left thigh because I wanted a cargo pocket on that leg and it seemed easier than sculpting one. I had problems with disassembly, but I probably just need some practice. Also, I tried to clear coat him and parts of him never dried right and are kinda tacky.

I just painted over the Cobra Logo on the vest. I debated over trying to paint the crossed out circle but chose not to. I used a dremel to sand down the Cobra emblem on the belt buckle and just painted over that.

I decked him out with a lot of weapons because he is a bad___! I left the Beretta in his holster but gave him the huge Robocop style gun because he is a big dude! The Sub Gun just looked cool and seemed to work with his look. I added a suppressor from the M4 just for style.

The backdrop is from the GI Joe Resolute Box Set. It worked very well!
