Nightstalker was flying a MH-60 Black Hawk assault helicopter for the 160th SOAR, supporting special operations in the 'Stan when a lucky RPG managed to put his bird into the side of a mountain.

Surviving in an enemy rich environment, he managed a 14 day escape and evade that left almost 40 enemy down, and resulted in the destruction of 5 well hidden enemy ammunition caches.

As a gangland culture survivor, and no stranger to violence, he survived by not wanting to go down in an unmarked grave in a foreign land.

"I didn't mean to hurt anybody, or blow anything up, but they just kept shooting at me, you know? I had to do something."
