OVERLORD (o'ver-lord) - A lord having power or supremacy over other lords.

After the awakening of Serpentor, Dr. Mindbender was severely damaged and nearly met his demise. Despite his first encounter with his new creation, he felt Serpentor was his greatest accomplishment and remained loyal to Serpentor. Regardless of initial intentions Mindbender's creation exceeded far beyond expectations. Dr. Mindbender witnessed his creation seoze and take control over the entire globe. The project was a complete success with one flaw......control.

Mindbender began to secretly devise a plan to regain control over his creation. He developed a training program for newly cloned Vipers that upon activation, would enable him to be their commander rather than Serpentor. This group of vipers became known as the Coil. In addition, he also began constructing genetic formulas that would enhance the molecular structure of his DNA, making him superior in strength, agility, balance and stamina. After being subjected to these enhancers, Mindbender became unstoppable. But even more astonishing, was his ability to regenerate making it almost impossible to perish him. His DNA molecules would reconstruct at a geometric rate in the event of a lost limb or being punctured with a minor to severe laceration.

Mindbender became the master by becoming the Overlord. Serpentor now answers to him!
