Paulo Inaki is of mixed race. Born in Brazil and raised in Japan.

His father, Dai Inaki, was a Japanese Scientist researching reptilian wild life in the Amazon. Dai believed that somewhere in the resilient genetic ancestry of the Amazonian wildlife was the key to advanced human strength and conditioning. His research focused primarily on the great snakes of the Amazon and was funded by an unknown consortium.

All that is known about Paulo's mother is that she was a poor local villager who worked as a lab assistant collecting specimens for his fathers research. A friend who new her said "Her job gave her life and that life was Paulo."

Paulo was born several weeks premature. It was assumed that he would not survive since he was so small and weak. But his mother never gave up on him. By the time he was 4 he was as healthy as any other child. Some thought too healthy? His father was quoted as saying "Strength can only be derived from weakness through evolution!" It was as if Dai was prepared to watch his son overcome any obstacle?

By the age of 10 Paulo was big enough and strong enough. He began to assist his father's research by collecting specimens with his mother. But Just as life turned promising for Paulo. Tragedy struck!

During a routine specimen collection. The boat the 3 of them were on capsized in a deep part of the river. A notorious area for crocodile activity. Before other researchers were able to rescue them. Both Paulo's mother and father were pulled under by crocs, never to be seen again. As rescuers maneuvered to reach Paulo, who was clinging to the rudder of the capsized vessel, a crocodile appeared to take him down.

Paulo was not seen until 2 days later, several miles down river. The lab got a report of a small boy and crocodile spotted on the bank of the river from local authorities. When the researchers arrived they found Paulo alive and conscious but unresponsive. His arms were so tightly rapped around the neck of the croc that he crushed it's vertebrate. Thus paralyzing it and causing it to drowned. The researchers had to tranquilize him so he would release his grip.

News spread quickly of the incident. Media headlines read "Boy strangles croc!" "Croc crushed by boy!" Local villagers were calling him the "Anaconda!" No more than 24hrs after Paulo was found alive. The lab was shut down. All it's equipment and research was trucked away. The researchers and Paulo were escorted by private security back to Japan. From that point Paulo was not seen for another 12 years.

Currently Paulo is a member of G.I. JOE.

Stone in a training session that lasted only 5 seconds. Sgt. Slaughter was quoted as saying "Now that's what I call a Cobra Clutch! YO JOE!"
