Qaos is believed to be a nephew of Firefly and had been learning his uncle's trade as the master saboteur's apprentice for several years. The young man, however, was considerably more sociable than his uncle and enjoyed the camaraderie of the Cobra mass life. After forming a close bond with some of the troops, Qaos decided to transfer into Cobra's regular forces.

His considerable skills and admirable service to Cobra as a contractor (not to mention family connections) allowed him to skip several of the normal rungs in the way up the ladder, starting off as a Night-Viper. Initially the subject of suspicion and jealousy due to his mercenary past, Qaos worked very hard and proved to be an extremely loyal and dedicated trooper and was further singled out for his strong leadership and teamwork. Shortly thereafter he was invited into the Crimson Guard. After passing their grueling initiation rituals with ease and grace, he was soon nominated for the SPECTRE-Vipers, the Crimson Guard Special Operations troops.

After several missions as a team leader, he was soon promoted as the small unit's commander. Some have suggested that Firefly actually groomed his nephew less as an apprentice but more to join (or infiltrate) Cobra to ensure continued contracts for the family business. Whatever the motivations, Qaos has become an operative that both Firefly and Cobra can be proud of.

** Although I came up with both the name and the write-up for this character independently (but wildly coincidentally), I noticed another custom called Kaos with a similar function by TR1ER so feel I must nod to him.
