Raptor was always a goofy character but that was one of the things that I loved about GI Joe. They had a large number of goofy characters. I never had Raptor growing up but a friend of mine gave me parts to make my own Raptor.

His head had the bird ripped off and he had no accessories, and I set out to make my own Raptor. I took Gnawgahyde's head and painted the mask and I had a pretty good rendition.
It wasn't until several years later did I add the silver paint. It kind of gives him a Silver Hawk (there's a dated reference) look.
