Spy B.A.T.s are the first wave of Battle Android Trooper to come out of the Coil research facility. Serpentor, Dr. Mindbender and the other leaders of the Coil Command system agreed, that while a super soldier was a giant bonus, a highly intelligent spy would be just as appreciated.

The Spy B.A.T. can operate on it's own with very little command from it's operative. And as a unit, they operate with a hive mindset, follow the commands of the lead unit.

And of course, they still maintain the ability to swap out body parts for guns, knives, and other weaponry. Making them just as deadly as a Cobra B.A.T., but with a modified intelligence levels above their counterparts.
