Sgt. Owen King, code name: Sneak Peek, spent much of his childhood tromping around in the woods of Northern and Central Maine with his father and grandfather, fly fishing, hunting, hiking and mountain biking. He joined the army after a year of studying landscape architecture at UMA left him feeling restless and unchallenged.

King spent three years in a Ranger recon unit, and gained some notoriety during his second tour of Afghanistan. He was manning a remote observation post overlooking a suspected insurgent ammo dump, when the main body of his unit was overrun by Taliban guerrillas. Cut off in hostile territory, he maintained his position for over a week, mapping the entire valley and taking extensive notes on the comings and goings of local militants, until the Army realized he was still out there and sent the Night Stalkers in to pull him out. Immediately after getting back to base, he transferred to the Special Forces in order to become a Joint Terminal Attack Controller, citing his frustration at being unable to call in air strikes while watching the ammo dump as his inspiration.

CONCEPT/CONSTRUCTION NOTES
Sneak Peak always struck me as a good concept with bad execution. Plus he's from the State I live in, so I can identify with where he's coming from. Conceptually, he's this bada-- ranger with a legendary reputation who specializes in advanced recon and high tech surveillance. In execution, the original head sculpt was pudgy, baffling given that Rangers shed a ton of weight during training and take a few years to pack it back on, the colors were weren't especially subtle and his main piece of equipment was a weird, unexplained periscope/radar thing.

I decided to go with a more modern ranger/SF look and turn him into a joint terminal attack controller as they're a crucial part of modern Special Forces, but the 'Joes haven't had one since Bombstrike. Instead of a microphone helmet, he has a ranger beret and a SatCom. Instead of a clunky periscope, he has a SOFLAM laser spotter and laptop. Instead of a scrawny, dated looking Vietnam-era M16, he has a suppressed HK16. This is a former Ranger turned Special Forces Operator who will not hesitate to kick your head in if you insinuate that he ever looked vaguely like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

The body is just an LBC. I really like the head sculpt because it looks substantially different than the one on my actual Sgt. Stone. I use the Renegades Duke vests for a lot of my customs because it's easily procured, has a lot of room for customization and gives my figures a certain degree of uniformity. I cobbled the SOFLAM together based on pictures I've seen and what I had sitting in one of my cases of accessories.
