"TIGER FORCE - a special unit within the GI JOE team - is called up for a secret and highly dangerous mission in the remote jungle!"

I've always liked Tiger Force. I can't really explain why but that subgroup has always appealed to me. Regardless, there are things about it that don't make much sense from a practical view of what is supposed to be a covert jungle assault team. Most of the figures from the original release in the vintage line followed that theme pretty well. International and later releases? Not so much. Same goes with the vehicles. My goal here was to recreate the original team but try to stay closer to the spirit of it's purpose. That means no bright colors. I've also cherry picked figures from later releases as well and added two new members, one of which is a new character. Instead of doing strait repaints of existing figures I wanted to try to go a different direction and tie in some of the other versions of these characters as well.

I never got the classic version of 25th Stalker. I liked the camo on his uniform but the figure just didn't really appeal to me otherwise, especially in comparison to his JvC version, which I really loved. I ended up with one from one of the DVD packs, but didn't really think much of him. I didn't become interested in any of his other figures until the Resolute version. While the body of the figure wasn't very exciting, the head sculpt was a different matter. I loved the character it showed and it reminded me of his JvC figure with the stern look on his face. I even loved the dreads which I thought were a new, unique take on the character. Then came the 30th Anniversary version. THAT was my new Stalker. I loved what they did there with the subdued & faded camo, the use of the Jungle Duke webgear and of course, the Resolute head. The fact that the body was v54 Snake Eyes' was just gravy. So going into this one I knew I wanted to do something different so I decided to base it on his JvC incarnation. I had a problem finding a jacket I really liked that would feel like that version so I decided I would just try to use the JvC torso somehow. I hollowed it out and chopped up a Neo Viper torso to give it the proper torso joint and neck ball. This also gives him the appearence of wearing a standard commando sweater underneath the jacket which I like. I think this was the first figure I did where I converted an o-ring torso into a modern style one which gave me some good practice in preperation for tackling Outback.
