Siren is very young. In fact, she is the youngest member of the G.I. JOE Team. Before Siren joined the USMC at the age of seventeen she had been working evenings as a singer to help the only family she had left, her grandmother and two younger brothers. Siren wandered into her local USMC recruiting station looking for a better life. Siren has been continually fighting her way into the special ops community and got her chance when she took a group of Marines into Sierra Gordo. Those Marines lead by Gung Ho were ambushed and needed a quick extraction. Siren's skills at maneuvering the PBR were noticed and were the main reason all the Marines made it to safety.

In 1992 when the G.I. JOE team was being reformed to take on Cobra once again, the search for a pilot for the new Stingray began. Gung Ho immediately thought of Siren and mentioned her skills to Hawk. After a quick demonstration of her abilities she was made a member of the G.I. JOE Team.
