Shadowstrike is a former pupil of the Arasikage Ninja Master, Storm Shadow. Shadowstrike was an amazing student and showed great potential, but Storm Shadow never trusted him enough to teach him his most advanced techniques. Eventually, ambition got the better of Shadowstrike and he challenged his master to prove his worth. He was quickly beaten and banished from the temple.

In disgrace he sought out the only other outcast on record, the Black Dragon. His skill impressed the master and his lack of compassion or integrity were strengths in the Black Dragon's organization. He has risen quickly in the ranks and has gained considerable skill. He hopes to pass the ultimate test, killing his old master.
