I view this guy as a Vietnam vet who, when returning to the US fell on hard times. He felt his country had abandoned him and ended up homeless. However, after a particularly vicious Cobra attack he started making calls with old Army buddies. He finally contacted Stalker who remembered what a good soldier T-Bone was during the war. He couldn't be regular Army again due to his age, so he was placed with the Renegades.
