I have been wanting to make this version of Ultron forever (it seems) but had been stuck on what parts I should try to incorporate. I had initially thought about just scratch-building the entire robot out of styrene, but then ran across this plastic top that my kids were getting rid of. Remembering that Ultron Mark 1 kind of had that Lost in Space/Robbie top thing going on, I threw it into a box of parts to start saving up. I passed on the idea of having wheels on the legs (staying more true to the source) to get a creepier 'spider-bot' vibe. Which brings me to the arms - I started with these Iron Spider arms, then switched to a custom-cast articulated idea, then went back to these in the end. The graphic that I used for the face was taken from the first appearance of Ultron in the Avengers comic. I used the full graphic for his 'face,' and then variations of it for the sides and back.

This custom was made finished for the "Found Item Challenge" (ineligible) for Joe Customs' Custom Celebration 8. It will fit in nicely with my other Ultrons.
