Head: Ice Cream Soldier
Chest/back: Dialtone V3
Arms: Crystal Ball
Waist: Lightfoot
Upper legs: HEAT Viper
Lower legs: Stretcher
Backpack: The Corps

Design:

The next in my Plague lineup. This is another figure that lends itself towards getting rid of "junk parts" from the bin. Aside from the Lightfoot waist, none of the parts used on this figure seemed likely to ever make a more standard Joe character. The waist was important because it has thigh straps, which a jet pack trooper would likely need. The Ice Cream Soldier head roughly approximates the head of Velocity, which changed from panel to panel in WWIII. An AVAC head would have worked better, but I didn't have one to use. The rest of the parts aren't exactly random, but not far from it.

A General Hawk jetpack/backpack would have been the best choice for Velocity. As with an AVAC head, I couldn't drudge one up in my boxes o' stuff, so a clunky The Corps jetpack/backpack had to do.

Colors & Painting:

As with my Incision and Body Bags customs, this one is charcoal grey and dusted with brown to add some dirt/grime to the appearance and liven up the otherwise dark colors a bit.

The biggest trick was to make the rounded faceplate look a bit more menacing. To get a more intense "expression" from the helmet, I painted the viewport/visor as only a third of the faceplate, leaving to rest of the faceplate to match the other parts of the helmet. The silver of the viewport is also framed with black to further separate it from the rest of the faceplate. Unlike my other Plague customs, Incision and Body Bags, this figure has a few splashes of dark blue. Eventually, I'd like all of my Plague figures to somewhat flow together- and I plan on using even more blue on Vanguard.

Modifying & Sculpting:

I removed the square shapes off of the sides of the head. The backpack is a mighty turd, but the addition of some wings on the sides helps just a bit to improve the appearance. Well... maybe not. It's still pretty horrible.

Thanks for looking.
