Name: Daina Janack
Rank: Lieutenant
Function: Airborne Assault

Daina used to be a member of the October Guard, the Russian version of the G.I.Joe. But the ideals that she had believed and fought for had gone down the drain when the Soviet Union fell. The October Guard was dissolved and the new divisions she and her teammate Lt. Gorky were assigned to were corrupt and on the payroll of the Russian Mafia. When those divisions were finally destroyed and Lt Gorky (who had betrayed Daina) was killed, Daina felt it was time to leave her country and start all over. She emigrated to USA and became a member of the G.I.Joe and took the code-name Vorona, Russian for Crow.

During her time in the October Guard, Daina had been known for a chronically bad temper, but that side of her has not shown itself while adapting to her new outfit. Instead she has been working on acquiring a sense of humor in order to fit in, but her coolness in the field, with patience and silence essential to complete the mission is still the dominating personality.
Vorona is tactically intelligent, and her experiences from the October Guard make her a dangerous but trustworthy combatant. The Joe's are happy with having her in the team rather than having her as a competitor, and another crazy woman in the outfit is always welcome.

Personal Comments:

I have always known that if I ever was to make a custom of an October Guard, it would be Daina. I had also decided long ago that she would be a member of the Joe-team, as the October Guard has no room in my Joe-verse, but I didn't know what kind of outfit I would make for her so I never got around to do it. Devil's Due solved the problem for me, and when Hasbro released the October Guard as figures, I could finally do this. I hope you like this figure.
