Green Lantern Kilowog and SHS Hulk.

When actor Matt Hagen was in an automobile wreck his body was destroyed ruining his career in film. Then Hagen found an elixir that allowed him to take any shape. He saw the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel that would allow him to stage a comeback. Unfortunately the elixir had a side effect it was unstable and Matt could not keep any form for very long. This infuriated Matt and he began robberies to get money to pay a young Dr. Mindbender to make the transformations more permanent. This led him to cross paths with the Bat-Man. When confronting Matt and accident caused the scientist to die and kept Matt in his Clay form forever.
