I've been meaning to make a spotter partner for Low Light for a while now. There was a recent string of sniper shows on the History Channel so they sparked my desire to finally make a spotter for my favorite sniper. I kind of cheated on this custom and repaint my old Low-Light custom to make the spotter. While I was assembling the parts for the spotter, I started thinking about them and decided that they would better as a new Low-Light, so that left me with a void as to the spotter. Then I remembered my old Low Light custom and how disappointed I was in the paint job, so I decided to repaint him and make him a new character. Thus, Scatter Shot was "born."

With the recent Cobra revival and Low-Light's return to active service, the upper eschelon of the Joe team decided that he needed a partner on the long and protracted field assignments he would be undertaking. When names were being batted around, Scatter Shot quickly became one of the top candidates. The ultimate decision on whom his spotter would be was left up to Low-Light, and after extensive testing and interviewing, Scatter Shot was plucked from the Marines and enlisted into the Joe team.

Scatter Shot learned his craft in the Marines and honed his skill in international competitions for well over a decade. His code name was born during his enlistment phase as he was such a piss poor shot his instructors dubbed him a "Scattershot" when his rounds hit all over the target. It took months of practice and steadfast determination, but Scatter Shot quickly improved his skill with the rifle to the point where his instructors prompted him to attempt sniper training. While five years Low-Light's senior, he's yet to escape being called "kid" by the expert marksmen when they are in the field. Low-Light's been quoted as saying that no matter how old, or young, his spotter is, they'll always be a "kid" in his eyes until they prove themselves to his high standards. Scatter Shot has no doubt he's up to the task, and he looks forward to every mission as another chance to show his mettle.
