The Adventure Team was formed in 1939 in reaction to the onset of World War II. Their mission, to locate, secure, and protect items of "interest." To do this the team recruited the greatest minds of the time, including Joe Colton, who went on to lead the G.I.Joe team as well as Indiana Jones.

Colton and Jones would butt heads over the best way to complete a given task but in the end things somehow worked out for both.
