Range Vipers are Cobra's long term survival experts. After completing Range Viper schooling each Range Viper is issued one set of gear and is allowed to pick their preferred weapon and sidearm of choice. Once deployed they are essentially on their own. They expected to inflict damage to the enemy or sustained periods of time with no support from Cobra High Command.

They procure their own supplies; food, water, ammo, and retrofit their gear with the spoils of their attacks. After long deployments it is not unusual for RVs to have trophies from their attacks.
