After Lady Jaye was killed at the hands of The Red Shadows, Flint was devastated. No one could reach him as he disappeared to Snake Eyes' cabin. When he finally returned to GI Joe, he went straight to Duke. He told Duke that he could not perform his duties as long as his wife's murderers were still out there. Duke told him that GI Joe could not approve a personal vendetta, but he did approve of it. Duke quickly assigned Beachhead and Snake Eyes to assist Flint in the removal of The Red Shadows terrorist threat.
