Silvermane was killed during a shootout with a rival gang at a New York City scrap yard. He was picked up by a magnet and dropped into a garbage compactor, crushing him.

However, Silvermane's head was still alive and was found by a young boy as he played in the scrap yard. Wanting to build a robot, the young boy kept the head. Although being mute at this time, Silvermane convinced the young boy (using only facial expressions) to build him a means of mobility with a radio-controlled car.

Silvermane is currently patrolling the scrap yard unbeknownst to the Superior Foes of Spiderman, who have been using it as a secret lair.
