The "All-American" boy, Inferno grew up in southern California, excelled in school, became an Eagle Scout, and joined the local volunteer fire department. He always had a positive outlook on the world until wildfires spread across his neighborhood one summer. His family did not survive the blaze. If not for fighting fire across the county, he would have been home with them. He learned soon after that his parents had no life insurance and the home owner's insurance barely paid the mortgage. He was left with no home, no family, and only the clothes on his back. The fire changed his attitude and with the knowledge of fire behavior he learned with the fire department, he began taking others lives away from them. When authorities caught up with him, Cobra came to the rescue and gave him safe haven on Cobra Island. He became the Cobra scouts leader and helped set up communities on the island. But it was his talent with fire that Cobra wanted and when The Immortals were formed, Inferno was given a new position.
