Grunt was one of those characters that I never really got into. I never had the original figure, and I was not impressed with his '91 figure, in fact I though it was the weakest from an otherwise great year.
I liked his portrayal in the comics and especially liked that he had left the Joe team to pursue a college degree...it gave the series a certain level of realism that I really liked.

I see this as Grunt returning to the Joe's years later. He's finished with college, and has been working in the civilian world when he's brought back into the fold as a squad leader for a new generation of youg Joe's.

This is my second Grunt custom, and while I like the first, it felt like something was lacking with it that really made it feel like Grunt, so I wanted to give the character another go.
This custom was completed with the intention of being part of my project to update the original roster.
I like the General Flagg head as it works well to show his age since I always got an older vibe from it.
