The Ring of Fire Part 12 (The Finale)
Duke led the Assault on Serpent Temple while a small team of Tiger Force operatives led by Snake Eyes were deployed to rescue Scarlett and other captive Joes. The ring of fire that surrounded the Serpent Temple made the temple impenetrable to a ground attack. Thus, the air became the battle field, but winged Serpent Men have put up a great fight. Fortunately, Snake Eyes found underground tunnels which led to the temple, and it gave the Joes the door way to finally infiltrate the Serpent Queen's stronghold. Meanwhile, a familiar player came out of the shadows, the Jackal! He followed Snake Eyes into the dark tunnels below.
A horde of Snake Men attacked Snake Eyes and his team and tried to deny them passage into the temple, but nothing could stand in their way. The Snake Men fell, and in no time the team found Scarlett and the Joes and has set them free. The Joes divided themselves into two smaller groups; Snake Eyes' group went further inside the temple while Scarlett and other injured Joes headed back outside to seek medical attention. On their way out, the Jackal blocked their way. The Jackal was not looking for a confrontation; he wanted to help defeat the Serpent Queen!
The Jackal revealed, "I sold the Serpent Scroll to Cobra because I needed the money to find the best doctors to cure my son of Leukemia. I have accepted the fact that even modern medicine could only spare a few years, or months to prolong my son's life. I don't want my son to spend whatever time he has left to live in a world ruled by serpent demons. I am sorry for my actions and I am here to correct my mistake." The Jackal opened the long wooden box he carried and inside was a sword. He said, "This is what archeological hunters refer to as, The Sword of God. I've found it in a cave near the location where the Snake Scroll was found. I kept it as a trophy. Legends say it is the only weapon that could kill the Serpent Demon, who we know now as the Serpent Queen." The sword shined brightly as the Jackal raised it and then handed it over to Scarlett.
Inside the temple, the Joes fought against the Snake men while Snake Eyes penetrated the Serpent Queen's war room. Snake Eyes stood in front of the queen. The Serpent Queen did not wait for a second; she quickly threw numerous fire balls but Snake Eyes dodged every one of them. The queen launched a psychic attack and Snake Eyes struggled hard not to fall. Snake men threw punches at Snake Eyes until he was down on the floor. Still conscious but badly beaten, Snake Eyes heard, Scarlett shouted his name.
The Serpent Queen's eye widened when she saw Scarlett carrying the Sword of God. The queen ordered the Snake men to attack Scarlett and take the sword but Scarlett fought back. Snake Eyes stood on his feet and fought against the Snake men who surrounded him. Cornered and injured, Scarlett threw the sword towards Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes caught it. The Serpent Queen became angrier, her psychic power exploded! Everyone fell and fire erupted around the war room. The Serpent Queen approached Snake Eyes who was on his knees. The Serpent Queen kicked Snake Eyes and lost grip of the sword. Scarlett jumped over the queen, wrapped her arm around the queen's neck to choke her but the queen was too strong, she threw Scarlett towards the wall. A ball of fire manifested on the queen's palm and before she could throw it to Scarlett, who was barely conscious on the floor, the Sword of God ran through her, from her back, through her heart and out through her chest. The Serpent Queen screamed in agony, fell on her knees, and then dropped to the floor. The last thing she saw was Snake Eyes standing over him wielding the Sword of God.
Thunder roared and the sky grew even darker. A new scroll appeared in thin air in the middle of the war room. But before lightning could write the story of the Serpent Queen into the scroll, Snake Eyes tore it in half and destroyed it so that history could never be repeated again. The fire inside the war room grew bigger. Snake Eyes carried Scarlett and found their way out. Fire grew even bigger, and then huge explosions followed. The Serpent temple slowly collapsed, thick dust covered everything, and then there was nothing but darkness.
