Thor believes himself to be the Thor of Norse mythology. However all reports show that The Thor of Norse mythology and of the Avengers has not returned to Earth from Asgard after his last visit resulted in the senseless deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians.

Could it be he is The Thor? We have no way to confirm no deny. He does carry a hammer that all images and intelligence lead us to believe could be Mjollnir but again we can not confirm nor deny.
