Rockslide is a new character designed to fit in with my 1990 series of figures. 1990 was my favorite Joe year because of the all new characters with awesome designs and interesting personalities. And the over abundant amount of weapons and accessories.
As I was designing this figure, I wanted to incorporate weapons and accessories that would fit in well with the '90 line. The large rifle was inspired by the anti-tank rifles from the two World Wars used in mountainous terrain. It was made from a few different parts including a mortar launcher, and is designed to fit onto the backpack for carrying. His smaller rifle can be attached to the tab on his leg.
Being a Swedish Mountain Trooper, his camo was based directly on the camo used on their uniforms.

Mountains constitute half the area of Sweden, therefore winter survival and mountain warfare skills is a strong component to its military force. Rockslide, newly assigned to the Joe team, has brought that expertise with him. Born and trained from an early age to thrive in the mountains, Rockslide has become an invaluable member of the Joe team, especially when squaring off against Cobra's own mountain troopers, the Rock Vipers.

"Rockslide views his American counterparts as macho egotists with something to prove, and yet he's the first one volunteering to scale a cliff with no rope, and the largest rifle I've ever seen strapped to his back. Difference is, he's not proving anything to anyone; this is how he was bred and trained...and, frankly, we're better off for it."
