Character:

This is a tribute figure, based on Kwinn_Lives' amazing ARAH format custom original character. That character was his clever use of the filename "Frederick L. Bama", from a sticker on Skyhawk. This allowed for Kwinn Lives to slide Merlin into the early lineup without actually being a retcon, but more of an unseen character.

Design:

I started piling up 25A Wild Bill/Ace flight suit bodies, which I needed for the arms to use with DCIH- The Question torsos to make figures wearing suits. So, what to do with the bodies? Add NS Wild Bill arms to them, which I've also stockpiled. They are the right length for the bodies, and make for some good pilot figures! Merlin and Sparrow were the perfect characters to use, and Kwinn_Lives was gracious enough to let me use his characters. Because Sparrow will use the Wild Bill legs with thigh holsters, Merlin gets the shoulder holster. This helps distinguish them from each slightly.

Colors & Paints:

Based on the original character customs by Kwinn_Lives.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The shoulder areas were reworked a bit.

The Wild Bill helmet is ever-so-slightly too small to look right on the Indiana Jones head. To created the alternated helmeted head, I carved down some of the head and then glued the helmet on.

I don't mind loose webgear, as long as it doesn't appear to "float" on the figure. The Copperhead shoulder holster didn't contour the torso well. To correct for this, the mid-torso articulation joint is glued shut, and the gap filled with epoxy. Then the shoulder holster was glued down over the body.

The knee and elbow pins are also epoxy smoothed.

This figure is, of course, dedicated to Kwinn_Lives.
