Crystar was once a prince on the distant planet of Crystalium. Transformed into his crystal form to fight as a champion for Order by a powerful wizard he now must protect his planet from his twin brother Moltar who has chosen the side of Chaos and has been transformed into magma.

Each side Order and Chaos is aided by powerful wizards in a never ending battle to overcome the "Prophecy of Chaos" that had been put on the planet by the Demon Lord.
