Character/Design:

Surd was a villain in The New Adventures of Jonny Quest cartoon, which supported Galoob's Jonny Quest toyline. The toy version only represented the character as he appeared in QuestWorld, which predates The Matrix but clearly homages Tron.

This custom shows him in his normal form, in which he is wheelchair-bound. In the cartoon the wheelchair looks like the lovechild of a Tron Lightcycle and Iron Man armor. Here I dialed that waaaaay back, to just a normal wheelchair. There's a touch of Imaginext kibble on the torso and the extended headrest as a nod to the cartoon's design.

Colors & Paint:

Silver for the wheelchair, paired with black/maroon for the uniform. Not based on the cartoon appearances. Just liked it.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The hair wave and beard were volumized with epoxy, which also fills the midriff torso and a few other spots throughout the body.

About the wheelchair:

As a Playmobil item, it's slightly underscaled to Joe figures. Adding the push handles behind the headrest cheats the scale differences. The Ice Viper vest pack is added behind the lower portion of the seat, and adds some "crumpled fabric" to the very crisp and fluid lines of the wheelchair itself.

Special thanks to 2DARK2C, who has a knack for rolling kibble my way that's exactly what I didn't know I needed. In this case, it was the legs.
