Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill was the original founding team leader of SG-1. After resigning from the Air Force, he was recalled to duty by his former commanding officer and sent through the Earth's Stargate to a planet called Abydos, in a mission that gave him a new desire to live. After several years of leading SG-1 through countless missions across the galaxy and helping to save Earth numerous times. He was promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General and head of Stargate Command.
