Mainframe is one of my favorite characters. I loved the figure when it came out back in '86 but I also loved the characterization on the cartoon.

I also really liked the fact that Mainframe was a soldier who had, for the most part, thrown away his rifle and was now a computer geek. I felt this made the character unique. The fact that he could still pick it up and bust heads made the character even cooler in my eyes.

When figuring out how to update his look I decided I had to miniaturize any type of technical equipment the original figure had. Since there have been so many advancements to technology in the last 20 years I realized that certain components wouldn't be needed and other ones would of been combined. So I gave him a Palm Pilot that is tucked into a slot on his tactical vest. I also gave him other random "gadgets" that have no identification since that was something that was also prevalent on the original figure. The '86 figure had some very identifiable tech parts but others that were made up so I wanted to carry that over with this figure as well.

This is one of my less "gritty" customs but one of my favorites as well.
