It started as an act: a need to get close to this groundswell of biker gangs running rampant through rural Australia. After all, a good sociologist out to be able to immerse himself in his subject in such a way that they do not register his presence, as his Cambridge professor would say. And one mention of his name, Dick Blinken-Smythe, surely would make the scrawny blond student ripe for jokes or worse.

So, he came up with Buzzer while looking in the hotel mirror, from his recently buzzed haircut, and he went in looking to fit in and study these Neanderthals on two wheels from the inside. Somewhere along the way, he realized that these bikers were living a truer existence than any civilized bloke, and he lost himself to the culture.

His gang soon found him something to befit his name, too: the buzzing roar of the chain saw. Buzzer took to it like a natural; finding an art in the swift destruction of anything metal. Zartan, newly arrived to hide out in Australia himself after the botched assassination of Snake Eyes, witnessed one of Buzzer's impromptu performances -- and the idea for the Dreadnoks was born.

Duke's head received a lot of shaving down to point the chin more, and a Malibu Comics Hardcase figure donated its ponytail for the cause. The glasses are a combination of contour putty for the lenses and snippets of paper clip for the arms.

Once I chose the Burn Out legs, I knew that I needed a vest to go along with the chaps -- thus, letting me harken back to the khaki shirt and jeans, while using other classic biker attire. In order to get the Dart torso to accept the Gung-Ho arms, I used a round riffler file to widen and deepen the arm holes.
