Blast Radius was built for the CCCP at the Commando Customs boards. The premise was a hero or villain taking over for an established character 50-100 years in the future.

Blast Radius is the grandson of Scrap Iron. He met his grandfather unknowingly when he took a summer job while in college. Scrap Iron was leaving out his life as a demolitions expert for a construction company.

Scrap Iron was injured during a G.I. Joe raid and later died, but not after revealing his identity to his grandson. Blast Radius went on to take his grandfather's place in Cobra using a similar uniform and using various notebooks of information left behind by his grandfather.
