Raptor Vipers are Cobra's new breed of aerial defense and reconnaissance troops. To qualify for the Raptor Vipers, a Viper must first complete Airborne training. Prospective candidates are tested for reflexes through a series of video game tournaments held at major Cobra installations yearly (earning Cobra proceeds from gambling linked to the contests).

The feedback collated from these tests and the actual training regimen help determine whether the Raptor Viper is best suited for strict paratroop, or for flying the Trouble Bubble and CLAW (Air Assault glider) reconnaissance vehicles. They are also taught a form of the kobudo Karate discipline, albeit using the bladed 'wings' in place of the traditional tonfa.

Although offensively, the Raptors' best use is in recon, Raptor Vipers can often be found in the air, patrolling Cobra bases worldwide. The Raptor Viper's experience in aerial combat, combined with the quiet power in the second-generation CLAW, spell doom for any paratroop assault on their base.

Very few horror tales have surfaced about a Raptor Viper diving out of the sun and severing the parachute from the Airborne soldier, causing them to rely on their backup chute or plummet to their death. Few, because the second pass usually cuts the lines from those secondary chutes.

Work done:
Torso: sanded out the arm and neck holes to fit the connecting parts. Also sanded details from the front of the torso to enable use of the armor.
