Second Figures, known as Crimson Cadets:
VvV Crimson Guards with extra paint added

Crimson Guards are generally too precious to be wasted in battles, but a permanent trooper on the field is sometimes needed. Each Crimson Guard has undergone rigorous training in Cobra combat and tactics, but in order to keep their top physical condition they must do a refresher course once every quarter of a year so that they don't drop their edge. The Crimson Guard Officers are the field troopers responsible for keeping their fellow Siegie's in that level.

The Crimson Guard officers are also responsible for the field training of the Crimson Cadets, the men who want to advance from the ordinary Cobra ranks and join the elite. You can distinguish the Crimson Cadets from the fully trained Siegie's by the color of the trim on their uniforms. The guards have all silver trim on their uniforms with silver painted Cobra insignias on their chests which tells of their rank, while the cadets still have the traditional Cobra blue on their trim with orange colored insignias, which reveals that they are still in the middle of their 'cross-over' from a Viper to a elite trooper. The Crimson Cadets may have the uniforms, but they have to work hard to earn the desired silver-trim to be granted respect from the rest of Cobra.

One might think that the Crimson Guard Officer outranks the other members of the Red Guard thanks to their flashy uniform, but that's a faulty assumption. They do not have any higher level of importance than the regular ones, but since the Officers work mostly outside on the field, they carry more weather-resistant clothing. So avoid them when you can - not only are they skilled combatants, they can still hurt you with papers and sue you.

Personal comments:

Nothing special about this one, it is basically the same principal with this as the original Crimson Guards I have: I wanted to give them a flashier appearance apart from that dull look they otherwise come with. The second figure, the Crimson Cadet, is based on that I think the new design of helmets, arms and color of the insignia is ugly, so I did this with them as a solution as to why they look so different from the first design. You should know that the color on the faceplate of the Cadets is not silver - it is aluminum. My camera couldn't tell the colors apart. I choose that color as another sign that the Cadets has not reached the Elite-standard and therefore gets to carry a more low-classed metal on their heads.
