This is the longest running custom project I have ever done. I first had the idea about 4 years ago, and first set out to find the parts I needed for it way back then. It was an ambitious project to be sure. I knew I'd have to address the ear issue at some point. Once I got the parts together I had the brainstorm of having the t-shirt untucked, and using a water balloon to cover the waist joint. This worked to my satisfaction, and led to my using latex on a number of subsequent customs. It's a shame that the entire experiment didn't pan out like that.

After many, many hours spent dremeling and sanding, and 4 earless Big Ben heads... I decided that this just wasn't going to ever live up the expectations I had for it. The goggle holes on Mirage went too deep, so I had to try and fake a head tattoo to hide that flaw. I did learn a lot - dremeling, the use of latex and paint mixing. But as a whole, he came out a major disappointment, and will be redone.
