I was one of those people who voted for and happily anticipated the release of the Comic Pack Cover Girl way back--I mean, hey, we hadn't had a new version of Cover Girl in, like, never! Then when it came out...it was pretty disappointing, thanks in large part to the molded "windswept" hair look. I bought a few anyway, planning to use the body at some point, and pretty much forgot about them.

To make a very long story short, I decided to remake this figure using the hair from a Comic Pack #9 Scarlett. Getting it to fit right on the Cover Girl head took a good deal of dremeling first, then mixing up a paint skin tone to patch in the areas of the forehead where the hair didn't cover; all-in-all about a day's worth of work. Lastly I painted the hair with Apple Barrel Nutmeg brown, a shade lighter than the #16 Comic Pack hair, and not as red as Scarlett's. It worked well and now I have a Cover Girl occupying the shelf with my other redone/re-imagined original Joe customs.
