Padre was original intended for my now-dead Joeverse, as the leader of an elite team of supernatural hunters employed by the Vatican; however with the death of my Joeverse, I decided not to bother with a bio.

Still, he remains one of my favorite characters. Simple to design but not so much to build (getting the legs, skirt and body to work together took a lot more effort than expected, and for some reason he just wouldn't take a good photo--I must have tried 30 times before I got two I liked!) it was a matter of, once assembled, painting Obi-Wan's beard black, doing the same to the skirt (which was actually a dark green) and then adding the priest collar. I painted up the shotgun and added it last--a nod to the priest in John Carpenter's "Vampires" who met his untimely end early on in the flick at the business end of such a weapon--sort of as a way of saying Padre followed in his footsteps, carrying on what he'd started.
