Design:

Having only made one ARAH custom in 2009, I wanted to do at least one more before the year ends. The only one I did before this was "Engraver", a Secret Service agent. I decided to do another federal law enforcement character for the second ARAH figure. "Chimney" is a name I've thought of using before and seemed to fit the character, despite the lack of a brick red color scheme. The character is an Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agent assigned to the GI Joe team.

The parts are nothing special, but work nicely as a whole.

Colors & paint:

I didn't like the reworked comic pack Tunnel Rat head, but with a new flesh tone and a painted mustache, it works well as a new character.

The color scheme I initially had in mind was a blue vest set against a light grey/white/dark grey camo on the rest of the uniforms. However, I was out of light grey spray paint to use as a base, so I went with the sky blue instead. Grey would have worked better, but this is okay.

My color schemes often have one "out of place" color to add a sense of realism. In this case, though, I went with all cold colors.

The vest proved to be frustrating. I tried to wash the details/grooves with white, but it didn't take and instead created a dusty appearance. I painted over the wash, leaving some of the brighter areas behind to show texture differences.

Sculpting:

The shoulder sockets had to be opened up just a little bit to take the Recoil arms.

Thanks for looking.
