RECONNAISSANCE MARINE
Code Name: Freeway

File Name: Tom Weststone
Primary MOS: Reconnaissance
Secondary MOS: Machine Gunner
Birthplace: Modesto, California
Grade: E-7, Gunnery Sergeant

Freeway is your basic recruiting poster Marine. Good looking, hard edged, highly disciplined and in fine physical form. He served at 8th and I in Washington D.C. as part of the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and then as part of the President's personal Marine guard. Later he served on Embassy Duty and as a driver for dignitaries. While he enjoyed the accolades those positions brought him, he didn't join the Corps to wear his Dress Blues all the time. He wanted to get to the down dirty part of the Corps; paint his face, live out of a shelter half, throw lead down range and live off of MREs. As soon as he returned to the States, he put in to join Force Recon and graduated the class at the top. After a recommendation from Leatherneck, Freeway was asked to join the Joes where he has become a valuable member of the team.

"Freeway has a natural silence about him. You never hear him move or walk by you. This is good for a Recon Marine. He is a quiet professional; he'll never say two words if only one would suffice. No matter where we send him, he takes it all in stride, does his job without complaint and looks good doing it."

I had the original Classified Snake Eyes, but traded him off, something that was a regrettable decision coz I ended up really liking him. I got another figure from one of the "Midnight Chinese" sellers on eBay, but this figure was a bit different from the regular Classified as he didn't have the shading around the eyes and the upper arms were different. The regular figure has rolled up sleeves, whereas this figure has a short sleeve shirt. This was also one of my first attempts at painting a camo pattern.
