After becoming an instructor at Fort Benning's marksmen program, he became a scout sniper. He then became the best sniper there was in the U.S. The Joes picked up Low-Light and trained him to be even better.

When the Specialist Squad was created, Low-Light wanted in. General Hawk was thinking of putting another sniper on the Squad, but Low-Light demanded he be put on the Squad so General Hawk decided to give him his way.
