When Cobra Commander tasked Mindbender with creating the next generation killer, not the next trooper, just one ultimate killer. Mindbender went straight to Coral Snake. There is no genetic engineering. No muscle enhancing drugs. No super serum. No special weapon. Just Coral Snake. The wrist gear he wears is a direct link into Cobra, MARS, DOD, even Soviet satellite systems. It helps him locate his targets.

Of course Cobra Commander doesn't know this. All he knows is when he sends Coral Snake on a mission it's completed. He doesn't take prisoners. He doesn't wound. He doesn't play with his victims. He just kills them.

As far as his background within Cobra, he started as a Blue Shirt, went through the Viper Corps., enlisted with the Range Vipers and Alley Vipers. He's EEL qualified. He's a Cobra soldier through and through.
