Is Thor a "God"? By man's old standards he certainly would have qualified. Is he an "Alien"? Most likely this term applies given mankind's current definition.

All we know for sure is that he showed up before anyone knew of any of these other damn portals. He must have had control over one from the outset. And we should perhaps be concerned about who else may have had one that we have yet to learn about. In any event, I agree it was a wise choice to recruit him for SHIELD and the Avengers Initiative, before the Batman, Snake Eyes and Knighthawk could bring him into the EXCAL mix.
